Very nice treatment, Preston!
When I lived in South Texas, there were a handful of barns and out-buildings I watched for ten years, slowing sinking into the ground. It takes a long time, but if people leave them alone, it’s almost as if you can see the years pressing down on them.
On the other hand, there’s nothing like old cypress barnwood for tables, curio cabinets, etc. A friend (now long gone) used to scavange wood from his native Mississippi for his woodworking shop here in Texas. He did beautiful things.
