He certainly does look lonely. His coloring blends with the landscape, too!
He does blend in pretty good. Did you realize the furthest hill seen in this photo is somewhere between 20 to 30 miles away? You can see for miles and miles in the flint hills of Kansas.

Looking at the colour of the grass, is there enough nourishment in it to feed a horse?

What a beauty. Some horses seem so much a part of the land it’s hard to tell where one ends and the other begins. I hope he had some friends around somewhere!
Barbara we really enjoy the openness of Kansas, however it took a few years to grow on us.
YB these animals seem to do just fine on dried brown grass.
Linda there were about five horses out at this shoot, but still it appeared very lonesome.
Glad there were other horses nearby …
