Was a bright sunny day and we were out on a photo shoot. Came home and checked out the photos taken and they were, well, quite ordinary and boring. So I try cropping the shots differently and using b/w to try and give the shots a storybook illustration type of look. I’ve read a blog recently where this woman writes so well using her own photos as illustrations and was amazed.
Now if I were to create a story where a young farm hand from the first photo, met the farmers’ daughter in the second photo, whom when together spotted the dog in the last photo while out on a picnic which led them to a couple who was out taking photos. Hmmm…

Really cool idea! Love the black/white!
The way you’ve cropped and framed really gives these the feel of an old photo album – and what did we do with those albums but tell the stories of the people who were in them?
I have to add – I really love that photo of all the cats in the header. I tried to find it in your files and couldn’t, but that’s ok. I wanted to mention somewhere how much I like it!
I like the idea of cropping the pics with a different format. It seems to change the focus of the picture. There are never any boring shots if you enjoy taking them.
