Hot Alma Nights 2010

Saturday, August 21, 2010 was the second annual Hot Alma Nights at Alma, Kansas. Classic cars were abundant and I haven’t a clue where they all came from. Everywhere you looked there were these classic cars… my guess is somewhere near 100 of them. The town was buzzing with activity as all young and old enjoyed the show. Anna and I had Bar-B-Que ribs at Chunky’s Snack Shack and there were several other places food was available. Fort Riley has always come forward supporting these local events with a show of military vehicles and soldiers. We are so proud of the Big Red One. Later in the evening the movie American Graffiti was shown on a makeshift screen between two buildings for all to see. Many folks were dressed the part of the 1950′s, a time in American history which will never die.

This was a really big event. I’m sure the crowd was larger this year than last year. I can only imagine how large the crowds will grow in the years to come.

Anna and I were lucky to get a few photos of the event which we will share over this next week. We hope you will enjoy them.

This has such an antique feel to it with the older buildings in the background. The cars are beautiful! Great photo, Preston!
