I’m ready for autumn and a break from summer. The leaves are turning from the top of the trees and falling already… and may be from the intense, crisp heat we’ve had this past month. The landscape is deepening in its hues of ocher, reds, and browns snapping out the summer greens. I saw my first wooly-worm the other day. Anyway, I was digging in my photo files to see what I had for autumn as I was thinking about creating a calendar and it seemed there were a short supply of autumn photos in our gallery. This abandoned red house is architecturally beautiful in its construction and is nestled in the countryside hills nearby Tuttle Creek Lake. I photographed this farmstead in mid autumn last year, 2009. I have photographed this house and farmstead on several occasions. I’m hoping to get back there after the first heavy snowfall in the winter.
By the way, we recently moved our gallery from Zenfolio to Smugmug and I’ve been beyond busy working on transferring photos and tweaking the new gallery. I have about, oh, a year’s worth of photos sitting in files that have not been posted here at the photoblog or the gallery, and so I’ve been working with the past photos as well as recent photos. Tis a season of change melding from summer into autumn.
