Kansas Country Snow Scene

The snow has been so pretty! In our neck of the woods, it started snowing at a good clip late last night and has snowed and sleeted throughout the day. I estimate that about 6-8 inches has accumulated so far. This morning, Preston and I drove out on a country road nearby to snap photos of snow scenes. A propane truck out on a run blasted a horn warning us to get out of the way…. we poke-along photographers. We saw plenty of turkeys but no deer out and about.

In Corel Paint Shop Pro, I processed the photo in Time Machine of an old-time effect called Albumen. The Corel description for Albumen: Widely used from 1855 to the 1890s, this inexpensive photographic method produced paper-based photos. Negatives were captured on glass, and the print was then created on paper that used albumen from egg whites to bind the light-sensitive chemicals to the paper.
